Pattaya is 147 kilometers southeast of Bangkok, on the Gulf of Thailand. It is Asia’s premier beach resort.

It claims to caters equally to families, couples and single visitors but I would suggest anyone thinking about bringing a family here should think long and hard before they do so.

Fifty years ago Pattaya was a tiny little fishing village, dwarfed by her neighbors; Na Klua to the North and Rayong to the South. Then came the Vietnam war. Thailand supported the American efforts in the area, providing bases, manned by thousands of young Americans looking for R&R.
