The best Pattaya blog on the planet!?

Mar 11th, 2007 | By Editor | Category: Pattaya blogs, Pattaya web sites, Thailand

I have been an avid reader of the Jil in Pattaya blog now for several weeks, indeed you can see the link in the “blogs I read” section on this site.

Ever since I started reading it I have been trying to work out what this guy actually “does” but thus far to no avail. He used to rent a huge house on Pratumnak Hill so it must be something impressive. That said, it obviously also gives him plenty of free time to write blog entries daily; a fact that makes me exceedingly jealous as I sweat out my six twelve hour days every week making enough to feed, clothe and school my family (and Nid the nanny) here. We are (kind of) conversing now so I am hoping all will be revealed soon.

The blog contains (in Jils own words) “……… 4 parts: One part is about my daily life. One part is news about Pattaya. One part is weird and funny and annoying stuff/news I find on the internet. The final part is U.S. Politics and my opinions”.
Yesterday we had a (very minor) tete-a-tete over the “Americanisms” on the site and I was politely, but firmly, put in my place.

Although I do not profess to understand the first thing about American culture (???) or politics the blog is just simply a GREAT READ! His writing style certainly puts me, and in my opinion all other Pattaya bloggers, to shame.

If you are looking for information and articles about life in Pattaya or Thailand or even just something good to while away the time I would suggest you add this to your favourites list.

  3. Had a read of her blog. Nice and have to agree. I don’t know how long her medical transcription job will last however, as that is getting outsouced.

Firstly its a “he” not a “she”!

Secondly please don’t post direct links here until you allow the same on your own blog. I allow ALL comments and links here (except spam and racist etc etc) and don’t ask for reciprocals, but adding links for backlinks when you don’t allow them on your own blog is a bit rich. Its been removed and I will put it back if and when your policy changes.

Can’t answer the question about the “job” as there are numerous companies do this, from USA and Europe. Some MAY be planning outsourcing and others not. Even those that ARE outsourcing are unlikely to remove their (quality) exisiting guys unless they are poorly managed. I am sure even if Jil’s company outsources 100% he will not have much problem joining one of the other outfits.

  5. 4amexpat - I see you have now added a link for me and I am reciprocating likewise. I still say you shoud open your blog to links from “non blogspot” members for 3 reasons:-

    1. You will get far more inbound links which is better for you.

    2. You will get far fewer people “pissed off” with you for adding links when they can’t get one back.

    3. You are currently geting “dead” links from people who DON’T have a Google/Blogspot account. Dead links means penalty points from search engnes.

    its a nice read though
